PoE++ injectors: 802.3bt power for devices that outgrew PoE+

The bt-class end of the injector range — 60W to 100W models, AI Smart Managed units with voltage boosters — for PTZ cameras, multi-radio APs and devices with heaters.

λ.01

Four power classes above the old 30W world

IEEE 802.3bt — PoE++ — exists because the device shelf outgrew 30 watts: PTZ cameras with heaters and long-range IR, multi-radio Wi-Fi access points, thin clients with displays, LED lighting controllers. Delivering 60–100W over the same Ethernet cable takes a PSE that implements the bt negotiation properly, and that is the slice of the catalogue gathered on this page: bt-class injectors from three of the manufacturer's injector families, commercial and industrial, standard and AI Smart Managed.

Two patterns recur in the model list and are worth naming. First, voltage boosters: several Mini Industrial AI Smart Managed models (the 60W and 90W LNK-AINJ units) document a voltage booster, which raises a low DC input — a 12/24V plant — to the voltage PoE++ delivery requires. That single feature is what makes bt practical on vehicle and battery sites. Second, management: the AI Smart Managed injectors add a managed layer (the family documents LED-screen local readouts on the commercial AI units) for sites that want visibility at the power edge without a full managed switch per cabinet.

How to specify

Name the powered device, not just the wattage

'90W PoE++' is not a complete specification: bt has Type 3 and Type 4 classes and the device negotiates. State the exact device model in the inquiry; the injector class is then confirmed against the device's requirement in writing, not estimated.

Booster models unlock low-voltage sites — confirm the input window anyway

A booster model fed outside its documented input window is still a mis-specification. Give the plant's real voltage range, including charging peaks and low-battery sag.

Managed or standard?

Choose AI Smart Managed models when the cabinet is unmanned and power-edge visibility matters (the family's LED display units show status at the device). For a camera on a maintained site, a standard industrial bt injector is the simpler buy. Both negotiate identically as PSEs.

Featured from the range

LNK-AINJ301M90 — 90W of managed, boosted PoE++

The Mini Industrial AI Smart Managed 90W PoE++ Injector with Voltage Booster (LNK-AINJ301M90 series) is documented as a compact, hardened gigabit high-power PoE injector that connects IEEE 802.3 af/at/bt PoE++ devices such as cameras and access points to a non-PoE LAN switch. Its commercial sibling, the AI Smart 90W PoE++ Injector (LNK-AIPSE301M90), adds an LED screen display for bench and rack use.

Questions buyers ask

Is 802.3bt backward compatible with my af/at devices?

Yes — a bt PSE negotiates down to what the device requests. One bt injector can serve an older af/at camera today and a bt device after a refresh.

PoE++ injector or a bt switch port?

One device, one link: injector. A cabinet full of bt devices: price both — a small bt switch may consolidate better. The deciding facts are device count and whether the data path also needs switching.

Why does the booster matter?

PoE++ delivery voltage is higher than a 12/24V plant provides natively. Booster models raise it internally, which is what lets a battery-powered site deliver full bt power without a separate converter stage.
