Industrial PoE injectors for cabinet-powered cameras and radios

Twenty-six injector models across the industrial and commercial families — wide-range DC input, multi-rate Ethernet, and 802.3bt models up to 100W — for devices that need power where the switch has none to give.

Power, added where the device is

An injector exists for the gap between where network devices live and where PoE switches live. Outdoor cameras on 12–48V DC plant power, wireless bridges on tower supplies, access points in cabinets fed by battery-backed DC — these devices need Power over Ethernet delivered at their location, from the local power system, not from a distant rack switch. This combined family of twenty-six models is the manufacturer's answer, and its centre of gravity is industrial: hardened units with wide-range DC input that take the site's own power — vehicle, solar-battery or cabinet DC — and present standards-based PoE on the Ethernet port.

The model names carry the engineering honestly: input windows (12-48V, 12~48VDC, and one 80~320VDC high-voltage variant), Ethernet rates from Gigabit through 2.5G, 5G and 10G, and power classes from 30W PoE+ to 95W and 100W 802.3bt PoE++ units for the hungriest PTZ cameras and multi-radio devices. An EN50155-marked model with M12 connector serves rail applications. The commercial PoE Injector family adds the office-grade equivalents. Between them, the family's discipline is the same: the injector negotiates as a standard PSE, so the powered device cannot tell it apart from a PoE switch port.

How to specify

Input power is the first filter

List what actually feeds the cabinet: nominal voltage and its real swing (a '24V' battery plant is not 24.0V). The family's input windows are printed in the model names precisely so this filter is fast — units documented for 12-48V input cover vehicle and battery plants; the 80~320VDC model serves high-voltage DC sites. Mismatched input is the most common injector specification error.

Match the PoE class to the device's worst case

A PTZ camera's draw peaks with heater and blower running, not on the datasheet's first line. The family runs 30W / 60W / 95W / 100W classes; choose against the device's maximum, and state the device model in the inquiry so the class is confirmed in writing.

Rate is moving: 2.5G/5G/10G models exist for a reason

Wi-Fi 6/7 access points and 4K+ cameras already exceed Gigabit backhaul in aggregate. If the device has a multi-gig port, pick an injector that passes it — the family documents 2.5G, 5G and 10G models — instead of silently capping the device at 1G.

LNK-INJ401-30 — hardened 2.5G injection from site power

The 12-48V Input Industrial 2.5G 30W PoE+ Injector (LNK-INJ401-30) is documented as a hardened 2.5G PoE injector that connects an IEEE 802.3 af/at powered device — a camera or access point — to a non-PoE LAN switch within 100 metres. It is the family pattern in one model: local DC in, standards negotiation, multi-gig data through.

Questions buyers ask

Injector or midspan — is there a difference?

They are the same device class (the industry uses both words; 'midspan' is the older IEEE-era term). What matters is ports: these are single-device injectors. Multi-port power is a switch's job.

Can an injector feed a device 100 m away?

The Ethernet span rules still apply: the documented reference model serves its device within the standard 100 m channel. Longer powered spans are the extender family's work — see Industrial PoE Extenders.

Will it work with my solar/battery plant?

That is the design centre of the industrial family: wide-window DC input models exist precisely for battery plants. State your plant voltage and its charge/discharge swing in the inquiry.
